so, as i was casually going through kanye west’s blog, i stumbled across this which i thought was so adorable:

are these not the cutest speakers you’ve ever seen? here’s a link with a few more details. they’re a little pricey at $76 [eep!] though.
apparently you can get them off the website Geek Stuff 4 U, but when i tried to search for them, i came up with nothing. :[ if you find ‘em anywhere, get at me!
so as i was looking through orange32.com, the website that provided the dope douchebag cards, i came across this awesome t-shirt that i now really want:

short and to-the-point, just how i like my t-shirts.
don’t mess with me ppl, or i will seriously PUNCH YOU IN THE FACE.
so i think i stumbled across this on brandon’s facebook and was just like WTFFFFF. yes, you read the title right, someone has taken the time out to make obama condoms:

i mean, i know obama’s face was pretty much everywhere during his campaign [and now still] but i’m not quite sure how i feel about obama’s face on a package of condoms. don’t get me wrong, i’m all about people practicing safe sex but obama condoms?
uhhhh yeahh. hmmhmmm.
be sure to check out the website. apparently there are also mccain condoms and palin condoms. what, no biden condoms? poor guy.
so, ladies, have you ever been in a club doing your thang and all of a sudden, some creepy random guy comes up to you and starts trying to get with you? and no matter how many times you try to push him off, he’s just kinda like ‘whatever, you know you want it’ and being a complete DOUCHEBAG?
well, have i got a little somethingsomething for you then. i now present to you, the douche card (thanks to jocey for the tip who found these on thrillist):

so now everytime some jackass is all up in your space, just hand him this card and walk away. no words necessary.
so when i wasn’t in class yesterday, i was more or less watching the inauguration. no lie, i was glued to the tv! the whole day was pretty amazing, i gotta say.
so in honor of obama’s inauguration [i know i'm a little late], here are a few of my favorite obama videos:
for some reason, i can’t get this video to embed, but here’s the link: http://www.dailykostv.com/v/000137.html
essentially, it recaps election night and obama’s historic win. everytime i watch videos from this night, i get really emotional, no joke.
this next one is the music video by will.i.am, called ‘it’s a new day.’
and this one, which i’m sure most of you have seen already, is obama’s inauguration speech.
first part:
second part:
and this one has to be one of my all-time favorites:
i don’t remember who i got this link from, probably blee, but it’s pretty awesome.
remember these images from the obama compaign?:
obama-nation.
well, there’s this website called obamicon where you can upload your own image, mess around with the coloring, and add your own caption. it’s pretty fun!
here’s my horrible version:
joyce for president? president of AWESOMENESS, that is.
i don’t remember who i was talking about this with [as you can tell my memory is shot to hell. hey that rhymes!] but we were discussing how so many different art forms were used in obama’s campaign especially. from music, to videos, to shirts, obama was everywhere!
now go forth and make your own campaign poster. i know you want to.
i love penguins. i can’t really explain why. maybe it’s because they waddle. maybe it’s because they glide on their bellies. maybe it’s because they’re just SO DARN CUTE. ugh. so adorable. perhaps one day i’ll dedicate a post to my penguin collection. perhaps.
anyway. so as i was mindlessly surfing facebook, trying to procrastinate as usual, i stumbled across this youtube video on one of my friends’ profiles:
is this not the cutest thing you’ve ever seen?!!? there’s a whole host of other youtube videos featuring pingu and his family.
if you don’t know who pingu is, here’s some backstory:
Pingu is a Swissanimated television series created by Otmar Gutman, about a family of penguins who live at the South Pole. The main character is their son and title character, Pingu. [taken from pingu's wiki page]
to be honest, i haven’t seen that much pingu stuff in the us. however, while i was in asia, i did see more of an abundance of pingu paraphernilia. humhum. i’m surprised pingu hasn’t blown up more in america considering the penguin craze we’ve been riding the last few years.
the word ‘fail’ is not longer just a verb. fairly recently, it has been adopted into the american vernacular as a noun. for example:
“wow. that was such an EPIC FAIL.”
i am one of the many who is guilty of using ‘fail’ in this sense often. i can’t help it! it’s such a good word to adequately describe something that is a) a hot mess b) shitty c) messed up d) other e) all of the above.
so imagine my surprise when my sister introduced me to the fail blog (jocey, i can’t remember if this was the one you introduced me to or if it was the other one i mention below…) . essentially, people submit images that fit the definition of a ‘fail.’ for example, this one made me chuckle:
oh snap.
this person fails SO HARD because he/she accidentally texts/ims her dad about losing his/her virginity on a school trip. i mean seriously, how do you accidentally im your father something like this? FAIL.
not surprisingly, this fail-themed blog is not the only one on the internets. when i googled “fail blog” to find the one my sister referred me to, i found a whole variety of different fail blogs, even ones that were even more specifically themed. like one about dogs, called fail dogs. the variations are endless!
however, it looks like the original (although this could probably be argued) ‘fail-blog’ was this one.
bottom line is that there’s this guy named matt who travels to a variety of cities around the world and dances. at first it’s just him but as the video goes on, he is eventually joined by tons of people dancing with him.
and at first i was kinda like, “well, he’s just dancing….in a whole bunch of different places. what’s the big deal?” but maybe it was cause of the inspirational music playing in the background or the extreme cuteness of the kids featured but i ended up liking the video at the end.
